BEYOND TRAVEL
We believe travel can contribute positively. Through long-term partnerships, each journey helps support environmental restoration and essential rescue services.
WE'VE JOINED THE TREEVOLUTION!
We’re proud to partner with Greenpop, an award-winning registered non-profit organisation based in Cape Town. Greenpop focuses on restoring ecosystems and supporting local environmental custodians through tree planting, urban greening, food gardening, and environmental awareness projects across sub-Saharan Africa.
To date, Greenpop has planted over 175,000 trees and inspired more than 132,000 active citizens across South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, and Tanzania.
For every international long-haul flight ticket booked, we plant one tree.
SUPPORTING THE VOLUNTEERS ON THE FIRELINE
Volunteer Wildfire Services is the largest volunteer firefighting organisation in South Africa, with more than 300 trained volunteers operating from four stations across the Western Cape, including the South Peninsula and Helderberg. Grey Travel supports this work through a monthly financial contribution, helping ensure ongoing training, essential equipment, and operational readiness for wildfire response in the region.
SUPPORTING THE VOLUNTEERS AT SEA
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) is powered by more than 1,500 unpaid volunteers operating from 131 service locations across South Africa, including satellite stations, inland dams, and lifeguarded beaches. Their teams respond to swift-water and flooding incidents, fires on vessels, and medical evacuations at sea, assisting everyone from commercial trawlers and leisure yachts to swimmers, anglers, paddlers, hikers, and surfers. Grey Travel supports this life-saving work through ongoing financial contributions that help sustain rescue operations, training, equipment, and vital water-safety and survival-swimming programmes that save lives, change lives, and help create safer futures.
WE'VE DECLARED A CLIMATE EMERGENCY

Tourism Declares supports tourism businesses, organizations, and individuals in declaring a climate emergency and taking action to reduce their carbon emissions.
Grey Travel has joined a global community of over 300 organizations, companies and professionals working together to plan a better future for tourism.
We have all committed to align our plans with the need to cut global emissions in half by 2030. Sharing our challenges, ideas, and solutions as we look to develop tourism that is in balance with our climate, restoring biodiversity, and supporting vulnerable people across the world.
JOIN US IN TAKING REAL CLIMATE ACTION
At Grey Travel, we’re proud to partner with Ecologi, a B-Corp certified social enterprise leading the way in global climate action. Through this partnership, we contribute to impactful environmental solutions, including verified carbon reduction initiatives and tree-planting projects around the world.
Ecologi empowers businesses like ours to take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future. Their all-in-one platform helps calculate carbon footprints, reduce emissions, support high-quality climate projects, and track progress along the journey to net-zero.

IT'S TIME FOR TOURISM TO TAKE ON PLASTIC POLLUTION

The Global Tourism Plastics Initiative unites the tourism sector behind a common vision to address the root causes of plastic pollution. It enables businesses, governments, and other tourism stakeholders to take concerted action, leading by example in the shift towards circularity in the use of plastics.
